  • NEW NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE STORM SURGE MAPS A LIFE-SAVING TOOL   New maps from the National Weather Service to warn of storm surges from hurricanes will give local and state emergency management coordinators a new tool to help local communities avoid harm — and may help save lives from the deadliest impact of tropical storms. More details with a click here: http://www.dailypress.com/news/dp-nws-sci-hurricanes-forecast-20160401-story.html

  • SCIENTISTS SCURRY TO SOUTHEAST TO STUDY STORMS, CHASE TORNADOES   Dixie also has a tornado alley! Details in this link to CNN.com: http://edition.cnn.com/2016/03/30/weather/southeast-tornado-experiment-vortex-se/index.html

  • CLIMATE EXPERTS FIELD QUESTIONS FROM THE CROWD   from Kevin Shaw, ACON DC/MD/DE: "I watched most of this Severe Storms and Tornado conference. Excellent presentations. All the presentations are broken up on this website - so you can pick and choose which one you would like to see and hear. Dr. Louis Uccellini, NWS Director, made an excellent presentation (And he goes into the big blizzard of Jan 2016 in good detail) that on this website is divided up in 6 parts. I heartily recommend you check some or all of these presentations out. They will remain on WGN's website in the future so no rush to get to them but do try to watch at least a few of them. The entire conference lasted most of the day today." More details with a click here: http://wgntv.com/category/news/fermilab/
