THE AVERAGE MONTHLY TEMPERATURE RANKS AS THE 5TH COLDEST NOVEMBER ON RECORD. THERE WERE 14 DAYS WITH HIGH TEMPERATURES BELOW 50 DEGF... INCLUDING 7 CONSECUTIVE DAYS FROM THE 13TH THROUGH THE 19TH. THIS IS THE MOST NUMBER OF TOTAL DAYS BELOW 50F SINCE NOVEMBER OF 1996 WHEN THERE WERE 16 DAYS...AND THE THIRD LONGEST NOVEMBER STRETCH OF CONSECUTIVE DAYS WITH TEMPERATURES BELOW 50F. A RECORD DAILY LOW MAXIMUM TEMPERATURE OF 36 WAS SET ON THE 18TH...BREAKING THE OLD RECORD OF 39 SET IN 2008. A SECOND RECORD DAILY LOW MAXIMUM TEMPERATURE WAS SET ON THE 19TH WHEN THE HIGH OF 34 DEGREES BROKE THE OLD RECORD OF 38 SET IN 2008. TWO DAILY LOW TEMPERATURE RECORDS WERE SET ON THE SAME NIGHT. A RECORD DAILY LOW TEMPERATURE OF 18 DEGREES WAS SET ON THE EVENING OF THE 18TH...BREAKING THE OLD RECORD OF 20 SET IN 1991. THE HALF INCH OF SNOW ON THE 26TH WAS THE FIRST MEASURABLE SNOW I HAVE OBSERVED IN NOVEMBER SINCE NOV. 23, 2005. ANOTHER REMARKABLE FEATURE OF NOVEMBER 2014 IS THAT THE AVERAGE MAXIMUM AND MEAN AVERAGE TEMPERATURES I OBSERVED AT THIS STATION WERE EXACTLY THE SAME AS THOSE OF NOVEMBER 2013, AND THE AVERAGE MINIMUM WAS A MERE 0.1 DEGREES LOWER THAN THAT OF NOVEMBER 2013. I CAN’T RECALL SEEING SUCH A THING IN ALL MY YEARS OF OBSERVING! " - [ - + ]
