    Arlington/Washington, D.C. - "WASHINGTON DC...REAGAN NATIONAL AIRPORT... THE MONTHLY AVERAGE TEMPERATURE WAS WELL ABOVE NORMAL...AND RANKED AS THE 6TH WARMEST NOVEMBER ON RECORD. MONTHLY PRECIPITATION WAS BELOW NORMAL. LAST MONTH WAS THE WARMEST NOVEMBER SINCE 1985. A RECORD DAILY HIGH TEMPERATURE OF 80 DEGREES WAS SET ON THE 6TH...BREAKING THE OLD RECORD OF 78 SET IN 1948. THIS WAS ALSO THE 4TH LATEST DAY IN A CALENDAR YEAR REACHING AT LEAST 80 DEGREES ON RECORD. A RECORD DAILY HIGH MINIMUM TEMPERATURE OF 59 DEGREES ON THE 19TH TIED THE RECORD PREVIOUSLY SET IN 1931 AND 1906. " - [ + - ] - from NWS Sterling, VA

    Chantilly - " November temperatures averaged much above normal and precipitation was below average. The mean monthly temperature was 51.7° (+5.3°). The mean high temperature was 62.4° (+4.9°) and the mean low temperature was 41.0° (+5.7°). A record high temperature was set on the 6th (80.1°) and tied on the 27th (70.4°). A record high minimum temperature was set on the 6th (62.4°). November precipitation of 2.14” was below average (-1.27”), with a record 0.56” of rain on the 9th. MONTHLY PRECIPITATION WAS WELL BELOW NORMAL. THIS WAS THE WARMEST NOVEMBER SINCE 2001. A RECORD DAILY HIGH TEMPERATURE OF 80 DEGREES WAS SET ON THE 6TH...BREAKING THE OLD RECORD OF 78 SET IN 1994 AND 1978. THIS WAS ALSO THE 3RD LATEST DAY IN A CALENDAR YEAR REACHING AT LEAST 80 DEGREES ON RECORD.     Herndon - from member Randy Ashby: " November was below normal for temperature and for precipitation. The temperatures ranged between a high of 80 and a low of 28 and was 0.9 degrees below normal. On the precipitation side, the month was 0.51” below normal, with 2.61” measured. We are now about 2.5” below normal for the year. " - [ - - ]

    Portsmouth - from Bill Trotter: " The month's average temperature of 56.3° was 3.7° ABOVE NORMAL. Precipitation (5.51") was ABOVE NORMAL by 2.10" or 161% of the November average during the period from 1976 to 2014. Rainfall for the year through November 30th was 49.31" (+2.67" or 106% of normal). NOVEMBER 2015 WAS THE 4TH WARMEST IN THE DATABASE TO 1976.     Glen Allen - from Lowell Koontz: " This November was the second warmest on record (records since 2008) as the monthly mean temperature was 53.2 °F, a +4.8 °F mean temperature departure when compared with Glen Allen’s seven year average. The average barometric pressure for November was a new record high of 30.22 inches. The Mid-Atlantic was under high pressure for most of the month giving warm temperatures for Nov. Precipitation occurred on 10 days in November with a total of 5.03 inches which was the 2nd greatest on record for Glen Allen with a departure of +1.07 inches and was the 3rd consecutive month with above average precipitation. The maximum temperature for November was 79°F on the 6th which was a new record monthly maximum. The lowest minimum was 26°F recorded on the 24th. The daily mean temperature on the 6th was 70.9°F which made it the warmest November day on record at Glen Allen. There were only 5 days that the minimum temperature was less than or equal to 32 °F which was the 2nd least on record with only 2009 having less. The maximum barometer reading for the month was the highest on record for November at 30.81 inches occurring on the 26th. The highest dew point for the month was 68 °F on the 5th which was the highest dew point recorded in November. The maximum wind gust was only 27 mph on the 6th the third lowest for November. The average November minimum temperature was 42.7°F which tied for the 10th warmest since 1897. The Airport’s mean temperature for Nov. was 53.0 °F which was the 13th warmest November in the past 118 years. The 3.91 inches of precipitation recorded this month was the 31st wettest Nov. of the past 128 years. November had a total of 11 days with measurable precipitation but 5 of these were less than 0.11 inches. Only one daily record was set for Richmond during November. On November 2nd the 3°F temperature range tied the old record set in 1925. The 30th also had a temperature range of 3°F but it wasn’t a record as 3 years had a two degree range in (1920, 1963, and 1986). " - [ + + ]
