  • EL NINO & RIVER FLOODING   from The Wilmington Wave, the Fall 2015 office newsletter, NWS Wilimington (NC): "A strong El Niño is expected this winter season. Forecasts are indicating that it could rank with the strongest El Nino events on record which occurred in the fall of 1982 into the spring of 1983 and in the fall of 1997 into the spring of 1998. El Niño typically results in above normal precipitation for the area during the cool season. Read more here - http://www.weather.gov/media/ilm/WilmingtonWave_Fall2015.pdf.

  • EL NINO IN THE WAKEFIELD CWA: WHAT DOES IT MEAN FOR US?   El Nino conditions have developed and are expected to persist into the upcoming winter and last through the spring of 2016. Read more information on this topic in an article prepared by NWS Wakefield, VA (KAKQ) at http://www.weather.gov/media/akq/cliSUM/ENSO_CPC_Presentation.pdf.
