If you are in the floral trade, a floral arranger or designer, someone interested in plants,
or would just like to see beautiful floral arrangements, you will not want to miss this tour!
TOUR:The Fred Heutte Center is sponsoring a one day bus tour to Washington, DC. This tour departs the Fred Heutte Center at 7:00am and will return at 10:30pm. There will be brief stops in Williamsburg & Richmond for passenger pick-up/discharge. While in Washington we will visit The World Association of Flower Arrangers (WAFA) USA Excursion Botanicus Show and the US Botanic Garden! This tour is handicap accessible.
WAFA FLOWER SHOW:This prestigious international floral designers group is presenting Excursion Botanicus – a show of 48 designs featuring US points of interest. Some of the arrangements can range up to 9ft tall! Some class titles are: Giant Redwoods, Niagara Falls, Seattle Space Needle, and The Washington Monument. Attendees are guaranteed to see very creative and innovative designs, techniques, and plant combinations as skilled designers interpret these themes!
US BOTANIC GARDEN: The USBG includes the Conservatory, National Garden, and Bartholdi Park. The Conservatory features a wide variety of living exhibits, with approximately 4,000 plants on display. The National Garden features plants native to the Mid-Atlantic region, as well as a Butterfly Garden, Rose Garden and First Ladies Water Garden. Bartholdi Park is an outdoor garden demonstration garden.
MEALS:All meals are on your own. We will stop for lunch at Union Station. On our return we will stop en-route for dinner.
