While our Davis anemometer performs excellently at lower speeds, it does not record with the accuracy of our Maximum Gust Maestro or our Don Kent Downeaster models at higher speeds.
After several years of testing and comparing of our three anemometers, the wind speeds recorded by our Davis anemometer and stored in our datalogger- and subsequently used in our summaries- are adjusted using the following charts. The adjustments are already made in our LCD (local climatological data) reports and in all data summaries published previously throughout our website.
HOWEVER, THE TEXT RAW DATA PRODUCTS PRODUCED BY VIRTUAL WEATHER STATION SOFTWARE AND UPDATED HOURLY AT OUR WEBSITE DO NOT INCLUDE THE ADJUSTMENTS.
Should you need a clarification of any speed, just email us and we'll check on it for you.
