Spring Camellia Show & Plant Sale

Virginia Camellia Society is hosting the Spring Camellia Show and Plant Sale. Interesting in showing your camellias? Bring your camellia blooms to enter in the show between 7:30 AM and 10:00 AM. Experienced and Novices growers are encouraged to enter blooms. There is a prize for Best Novice Bloom. The camellia show is open to the public at 12:00 NOON. Virginia Camellia Society will sell camellia plants between 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The prices are - 1 gallon camellias $15.00 each & 3 gallon camellias are $35.00 each.

The sasanquas are blooming and so let’s have some fun! Enjoy an afternoon of fun in a beautiful setting.

Wish you knew the name of your favorite camellia? Bring a bloom or blooms and we will have a mini camellia exhibit. Do you have extra camellias or companion plants you would like to swap for someone else’s favorite – bring those too.

Each fall we gather together to catch up on summer activities, plans in the garden, good food and a chance to share/swap plants we all love. All that is required is YOU! But if you want to share your favorite sauvignon, salad, saucy chicken bites, sugar cookies, potted sasanqua, or ?? – you get the idea.

Air Layer Harvest
Saturday, August 27, 2022, 9:00 AM - Noon Norfolk Botanical Garden, Picnic Shelter 6700 Azalea Garden Road, Norfolk, VA Join us at the picnic shelter with your gloves and pruners. All camellia air layers will be removed that were applied in April. Many hands are needed to remove and pot the air layers.

VA Beach Master Gardener Fall Festival
Saturday, September 24, 2022, 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM Hampton Roads Agricultural Research and Extension Center 1444 Diamond Spring Road, VA Beach, VA Virginia Camellia Society will be there selling camellia air layers, $15.00 and answering camellia questions.

VCS Sasanquas and Sauvignon Social and Plant Swap
Saturday, October 15, 2022, 2:00 -5:00 PM Hosted by Toni & Fred McKenna, Chesapeake, VA, RSVP, 757-376-2119 The sasanquas are blooming and so let have some fun!
